Tonight (August 8, 2013) at 6pm, Woman Made Gallery will be holding an event for “Slippery Slope“, a group show and solo shows by Brenna Conley-Fonda and Robin Hustle. This well-received show features work recognizing and using pornographic aesthetics. It runs through August 22.
I’m planning on heading over, and any Chicago based readers should too! Woman Made Gallery is an incredible organization whose mission is to ensure the equal placement of women’s art in the world. They’re located at 685 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60642. Call them at 312-738-0400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Hours are Wed., Thurs., Fri. 12-7 p.m.; Sat., Sun. 12-4 p.m. Closed Mon. + Tues.
The event will feature a reading by Megan Milks, a live chat with Sarah Weis, an artist talk by Noelle Mason, and a screening of stag film title sequences from the Chicago Film Archives (curated by Anne Wells).
